Kristen Martin

Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant

Hi, I'm Kristen. I'm a mom and a double certified pediatric sleep consultant. In 2018, I gave birth to a beautiful son named Paxton. Paxton was the sweetest newborn and I knew I was lucky, but at a little more than 3 months in, when he was still waking multiple times a night and struggling with naps, I decided I had to do something about it instead of just continuing to hope that it would get better.  I was exhausted and wondering if I would ever have a good night's sleep again.  I started researching sleep training; all the different methods, suggestions, and personal experiences.  I asked a bunch of my friends what they had done and how they felt it turned out. I finally asked my pediatrician after everyone told me it was the best choice they had ever made, and she agreed- it was time.

Sleep training Paxton of course had its challenges, but I was amazed at how quickly he caught on.  A few days after I started sleep training, Paxton was sleeping 12+ hours a night! My mental health and energy greatly improved, Paxton seemed happier and had more energy, and it had an all around positive effect on our family. I later went on to help hundreds of families get their babies sleeping through the night by way of one on one phone consultations.

I genuinely look forward to helping more and more parents better their overall quality of life by improving the sleep habits of their babies and toddlers. Sleep deprivation does NOT have to be your norm!

My Philosophy on Sleep Training

If you've scoured the internet, asked friends and family for help, read book after book, and your baby still won't sleep, it may be time for you to schedule an individual consultation.  While there is a ton of information out there (and lots of misinformation!), a one on one with me followed by a fully personalized plan specifically for your baby can mean the difference between sleep deprivation and feeling well rested. I will take into account your baby's age, temperament, habits, schedule, sleep history, home life, etc, in order to develop a personalized sleep plan specifically for your family. I really try to explain the "why" behind my strategies so that if your baby's sleep needs change with age, you'll know what to do.

You probably already know this, but all babies are different! This includes their sleep needs. When working with me as your sleep consultant, I will get to know you and your baby before giving you any advice. There is no one right way to sleep train a baby and what works for one family may not be best for another.  That's why it's important for us to work together with the ultimate goal of your baby (and you!) sleeping through the night.

As for our name, sloths are the world's greatest sleep and relaxation ambassadors. They sleep 15-20 hours per day, have evolved to do less over time, and are the slowest mammals on Earth- is there a better representative for great sleep than them?
